You shouldn't be so hard on people. That whistling ringtone is built into every Samsung Galaxy. I know, because it's on mine. I changed it, not because I didn't like it, but because every time anyone sitting near me on the bus got a text I was checking to see was it me. So I changed it to Bender saying "I've got mail!"
But I've used some pretty annoying sounds over the years myself. Mind you, my favourite for a long time was Homer saying "Here are your messages..."
