If that is the case you should also give
The Prisoner a try too. The fashion aside, it's thought provoking, and probably more relevant today than when it first aired. Patrick Mcgoohan wrote most of the episodes, directed and starred in it. He only intended it to be a few episodes which Jim Caviezel did a remake but I would go with the original first.
You should also try Doctor Who, the Eleventh Doctor episodes. I think you would like the Amy Pond and River Song characters.
