Actually, it is different to an extant. Yes, Milli Vanilli's label did a bad thing passing these guys off on a bunch of stupid fool "music fans" who shouldn't be listening stinky crap like that in the first place but it's to the point where the morons aren't even being consulted for their input. Just release the song and declare it #1 on the charts and they'll go out and buy it after the fact. It's like the industry is just on auto-pilot and nobody is listening to anything. Just release it under some big star's name and people go buy it no matter what. You couldn't have a Milli Vanilli fiasco now because it wouldn't matter what they sounded like--just release a song under their name, tell everybody that it's #1 and the sheep go out and buy it. It doesn't matter what it is even when they know it's lip-synced. They buy it anyway and defend the "artist" like they do with Rihanna.
