Yeah, this is a shame, and the guy was only 71. That may seem plenty old enough to some of you, but trust me, when you pass fifty, 71 doesn´t sound so old anymore.

Haven´t followed his post-Cream career, but when by chance I came across his Something Els album (1993), I was agreeably surprised. Some nice jazzy rock and some mellow moments too:-
