Seconded. I tend to get some strange looks whenever I mention that it's my favorite 2D Zelda game and one of the reasons why is because people were turned off by the supposed difficulty. Aside from Death Mountain and some moments near the end, I personally didn't think that it was that hard (certainly not that much harder than a lot of other NES games).

I think that smug bastard Tyson was harder than Zelda 2 cause i passed Zelda but i could never beat Punch out.

Imo We need more difficult games like Dark souls or P.T cause games are too easy nowadays and that makes them forgettable.
I remember the buzz around Demon souls was that it was too hard and i found it refreshing to hear that cause you don't hear that about alot games nowadays.
The popularity of the franchise makes it apparent now alot of gamers like hard games like that just as long as they're not impossible to pass and the gameplay isn't broken.
