with the exception of 3, MAYBE 4 posts, this entire thread made me feel as if I was stepping into a second grade classroom. Yes the government has influence over the music industry, but i don't beleive for a second that it's enougb of an influence to ACTUALLY make a difference to what we're hearing. Yes the government has set censorship laws of what kind of content can or can't be played on the radio, and yet there are ways of voicing your opinions, positive or negative, about the government without being censored. The main influences come with the radio stations, the record companies, as they decide which bands to sign, which songs to play etc. etc. The governments influence, while existant, is so minimal that it's pretty much negligable.
