Default Interview With Australian Pop Punk Star Rachael Nadine

Would you do a quick interview for my blog?

You know it. I'm halfway through a redbull I'm basically conscious now haha.

First off, what exactly is the name of your band?

We're called Rachael-Nadine, I was originally signed as just a singer / songwriter and it wasn't until I had to play live that I assembled my band. We've been open to naming it something more band appropriate but uhh the suggestions haven't been great haha.

Sounds awesome to me! Have you been playing any gigs lately? BTW weed is legal in Oregon now so yeah...

Certainly have, today were practicing for a charity event that we're playing next Saturday - something different and were more excited than anybody could imagine to have found out we're playing with red jumpsuit apparatus and Hawthorne heights next month!

Oh wow that is so cool! Have you been doing any new youtube videos?

Oops I'm hitting random buttons and accidentally sending my location over Facebook lol. We have two tracks completed at the moment, but I need to grab the camera and tripod and make some video magic to go with them!

I been really excited about Australian underground art lately. Have been reading some awesome zines from AU. Could you tell me a little bit about the art scene over there?

Melbourne is amazing for culture, I've only visited once but everything is intriguing , the street art is amazing - 3 dimensional chalk drawings in the middle of malls etc.. Even the buildings are stunning.Where I live, there isn't a great deal going on but independent galleries are beginning to pop up everywhere and it really does give me hope that in the next 2-5 years, the idea of being able to support yourself off your art is no longer unrealistic. One of the first venues to stock our EP is an indie art gallery and they have everything from handmade jewelry to full sized canvas paintings.. It's refreshing.

What is your opinion of the Facebook punk group scene?

I must've missed the scene because I don't think I'm in any. I am in a couple of music groups but everybody is a creator very few are listeners so it becomes this space bombarded by everybody wanting someone to listen or see their content but very few want to find new material that way. It may not be the case for others but that's what I see a lot of.

Cool thanks so much for chatting with me! I am kind of freaking out because a super collectible Dean Koontz book just came in that the lowest price I found online is $120. Earlier I got hardcover copies of Tom Sawyer Huckleberry Finn and Gulliver's Travels. The book business is crazy like that!! Thanks again!

Any time ! Thanks for picking my brain. Good luck with the Dean Koontz battle!
