Thanks everyone!
In case anyone gets the idea I'm pushing for presents, which would not be my style, this is more like those trees where people bring presents for the less well-off: you have those too, don'tcha? You bring the album, I review it.

Anyway thanks for the quick response, and some comments and replies below:

Thanks Mr P. I've heard a lot about these guys, so will be interested to give it a go. Congrats on being first in the line!

Yeah. There's a reason for that. Why oh why did you have to pick him?

Thanks for the vote, but also in fairness I said any genre, so there's no real reason I can't review it. Don't expect a good review though Justin!

I'm not entirely sure which albums you have reviewed so let me know if this is one of them and I'll change it.

Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat - Weltuntergangsstimmung (2012)

This album is described as "Darkwave" but it's essentially gothic synth rock. I think you'd enjoy it.
I've always avoided them thanks to the name, but I'll sure give it a shot.

Yeah, you're right. Other than Mostly Autumn, who are sort of Canterbury-influenced, and Gong, there is no Canterbury in my collection. I've heard of him of course. Will be interesting.

Love the way this is wrapped up! Extra points for creativity!

Soundgarden - Superunknown

It's accessible, but still pretty badass, and with a unique, killer singer. Everybody and their mother has heard at least the singles from this album, but knowing you, you may still never have heard it. If you have though, then just let me know and I'll pick something else.
You're right: I have never heard one single Soundgarden song.

I'm a big ELO fan, but I haven't reviewed this so I'll add it, unless you would prefer to suggest something I have not even heard. It's certainly not their strongest album, but I have reviewed the two on either side of it so it would make up the trio, as it were...

I'll pm you a link. The album is a modern take on Tuvan music and the mix of throat singers and large female choir is quite beautiful.
I like the sound of this...

Your assumption is correct.

I deleted my previous rec, and I'm choosing this instead: the best album I've heard from 2014. It's a wonder to behold.
Well if it comes as a rec from you I have to listen to it, don't I?

Thanks again guys. Going well!
