this, though.
I'm up by 5am, 5 days a week. I spend the next 11 or 12 hours on my feet, lifting, sorting, carrying, walking what feels like a thousand miles just putting product on the salesfloor at work. Apart from having a generous health insurance plan (which has been incredibly helpful to me) I feel like something's just not adding up when I'm working 40+ hours a week and Christmas is going to have to be
light this year.
I rarely spend money on things I don't need, and still, somehow, after the bills are paid, there's so little left.
For instance, after I paid my portion of rent, my phone bill and a payment to creditors I had ... $50 in my bank account. And I'm facing this upcoming week splitting pennies with $25.
F
ucking ridiculous.

I learned my frugality from my father because I was an accident child and ruined their life. My sister came 5 years later though she was less of a surprise. My parents were deep in the poverty pit for most of my life because they had children and it destroyed everything. Thankfully they also taught me the value of being childfree, so while things are a little rough in the first half of the month (the in-between paychecks are pretty good) at least I can enjoy what little I have when there aren't bills to pay.
Also I'm pleased that I can buy 10 cans of high-quality cat food for $7.50. The cat goes through about a can a day. Can't feed a kid for that kind of money. Oh, and a giant thing of cat litter is $10. And it lasts about 3 weeks. $10 worth of diapers might last a kid a couple days. I just don't understand why people have children; they're so ridiculously expensive and in this day and age it's just not an economical thing to do.
