I hadn't heard of john cage before, so I don't think so.
As I said, I needed to give this topic some more thought, and I have.
But now I have a question: supposing that it's music, then is it having a bunch of people (not) playing instruments what makes it music? Would you say that the performers are superfluous to it's music-ness, or not?
