to play devil's advocate on the whole sex/morality thing, i think there's a pretty sound way to interpret morality which renders prudishness a perfectly valid moral stance.
there was some study on human morality i saw a while back that dealt with this. it broke down some of the core human concerns that people have when making moral decisions, and 'purity' was one of them. probably some side effect of our evolution and our mating strategy which makes the incentive for us to try to find a partner that is faithful/trustworthy.
of course, that logic doesn't really apply as well to casual sex, but a lot of our instincts misfire in a modern context in this way so that's really not too surprising.
i will try to dig up the study cause i'm sure someone is going to call me out on this.
