I had something even more similar with Hesse's "Steppenwolf". I read it the first time when I was about twelve and then read it once or twice a year until I was eighteen or nineteen, always discovering something new.
But I generally enjoy reading books several times, I've read all my favourite books about three or four times and especially beloved ones like "Steppenwolf", "Naked Lunch" or "Invitation To A Beheading" more than ten times.
