Well, it's not bacon but from looking at the recipe it looks like it would have a similar array of flavors. It's just eggplanty instead of porky. It's smoked with mesquite(I think? can't remember), soaked in veggie stock brine, dehydrated, and deep fried. So you get that mixture of chewy/crunchy texture, smokey flavor, saltiness, and greasiness. I think you need to open your mind to vegetables dude, they're not that bad.
