Swans - The Seer
Swans 2012 epic The Seer is one monolith of an album. From the lumbering Gothic folk-rock opener of Lunacy, to the half an hour display of completely needed excess of the title track. The album is filled with tracks that can both bludgeon your eardrums (Mother Of The World, The Apostale), and sweeter moments that can remind me of anything from post-rock to country ballads (Piece Of The Sky, A Song For A Warrior, The Wolf). The songs don't feel overly long at any point, unlike some albums coughToBeKindcough. And to me becomes a completely enjoyable and fuffliling experience.
