Sometimes you gotta change the melody slightly though, but still.

here's some examples (it's my electric guitar since I was too lazy to tune my acoustic so it's a bit quiet, also my voice hurts like **** atm):
https://soundcloud.com/dylstew2/examples

1 - Choking Victim - 500 Channels
2 - Days N Daze - Misanthropic Drunken Loner
3 - The Menzingers - Good Things
4 - Ramshackle Glory - Your Heart Is a Muscle the Size of Your Fist
5 - The Menzingers - In Remission
6 - The Menzingers - Burn After Writing
7 - The Wonder Years - Suburbia
8 - The Flatliners - What The Hell Happened To You? (Hidden Track)
9 - Choking Victim - F***ed Reality
10 - No Cash - Skate or Die
11 - Streetlight Manifesto - Somewhere In the Between
12 - Operation Ivy - Sound System
13 - Morning Glory - Quemar Las Fronteras

There must be something most of these songs have in common.
Actually those chords immediately sounded punkish to me when I tried them.
And I'm just going to assume, those songs are mostly punk (I don't really know any of them).
Might just be a popular progression for the genre.
You might try making a punk version of the famous 4 chord song.
Although, punk being famous for having few and simple chords, it might not be as surprising.
