IMO:

-Rakim remains the greatest MC of all time for me, dude introduced lyricism into Hip-Hop and killed as a legitimate MC, he's unparalleled in terms of Hip-Hop influence. His only other competitor could be Melle Mel for introducing Hip-Hop with a message.

-Duo wise, I go with Gang Starr, Premier will forever be the greatest producer of all time, dude is a legitimate master with beats, sampling, etc. Add that with Guru on the lyrics who is in my top 5 easy because of his crazy unique flow and added lyricism and consciousness in his writing. You've got IMO two of the greatest that will ever do it.

Tupac doesn't even make my top ten, his shooting and mainstream hits leave him as one of the most overrated rappers ever. His lyricism just isn't there and he constantly contradicts his own messages in his music. He elevated Hip-Hop into a state of violence and negativity it should have never reached because of his beef and gangsta rap.

That's just my opinion, not looking for an flame war here.
