Like I said, if you listen to Nile, while they're a death metal band to the core, those Karl Sanders albums are merely an extension of the Egyptian interludes and atmospheric touches of that band. Plenty of metal musicians have side projects that have nothing to do with their metal music, but both of Karl's solo albums are sort of like if RZA from Wu-Tang released an album consisting entirely of kung fu movie samples; might not be hip hop, but its relevance to the genre would make it appropriate in a 1001 Hip Hop Albums thread IMO.

I can certainly take that entry and put it in the 1001 Albums thread, but I just thought that it would be more relevant to the metal thread. The former thread seems to be dominated by indie kids, and I imagine they might not be as interested in checking out the side project of a death metal musician.

Bit of a long song to dedicate your time to, but hopefully this illustrates what I'm getting at.

P.S. That's also totally not a sneaky way to get you interested in the death metal battle of my Metal Album Survivor thread since that album is on the list. Perish the thought.
