yea.. the thing about beowulf is the story is actually pretty cool i think, it's just trying to decipher ancient english really isn't a good way to introduce kids to reading for pleasure. i mean you might as well put the king james bible in front of us.

i have the same basic problem with shakespeare. plus whenever they forced us to read romeo and juliet it just seemed stupid from my teenage perspective. mostly the fact that they were "in love" within 2 minutes of meeting each other. seems ridiculous to me.
