i have the same basic problem with shakespeare. plus whenever they forced us to read romeo and juliet it just seemed stupid from my teenage perspective. mostly the fact that they were "in love" within 2 minutes of meeting each other. seems ridiculous to me.
Kids aren't going to be interested in Romeo & Juliet, if we hit them with King Lear or Othello they'd be hooked.
