I wanted to experiment with changing the tuning of some old recordings to "Verdi's A" which is the more natural sounding 432 hertz. Being not very good at math I have no idea how to do this in cool edit pro 2.1. When you alter a pitch in cool edit you can do it by note, or you can do it by "ratio" which I assume means "percent" (setting the ratio to 50, lowers pitch 50%, raising it to 200 makes it twice as high).
I guess I need to lower the pitch by 8 hertz but I'm not too sure on the math... do I just lower it 8%? That would be 92% of recorded pitch?
