I just saw that the Pixies are coming to town in May, and I'm almost certain I won't be able to go. I haven't listened to enough of them to really be bummed, but that's still a show I'd like to see just so I don't end up regretting it one day. Might have to make something happen.
There aren't really a lot of good shows around here unfortunately. I live in a fairly decently-sized area, but for some reason we only one good venue in town, and everything else is a hole-in-the-wall that only attracts third-rate acts and the odd good band who just doesn't have enough clout to book a place they deserve.
Hampton Roads, Virginia just doesn't seem to have much in the way of a happening music scene. Had to go to a ****ing seafood restaurant just to catch some local, bottom-tier deathcore bands a few years ago.
