EDIT: Come to think of it, there is one thing that Kanye is very good at, and that's song structure. His approach is very unique and I can respect that. The songs themselves may not be made up of parts that I like, but the structure itself is usually pretty damn good.

Well I haven't ventured very far out from the "mainstream" hip hop scene so maybe I'm missing out on the truly great rappers. I honestly don't know
What I do know though is that there's a massive drop-off after Kendrick Lamar, Madvillainy, and Nujabes for me. Never really heard any other hip hop that comes close to those artists/albums.
