I recently saw a show with Muck and the Mires, Barrence Whitfield & the Savages, and The Sonics. Muck and the Mires opened the sold-out show with some rather mediocre 60's style garage rock followed by a typically energetic R&B (real R&B, not the watered down pop which gets passed off as R&B these days) set from Barrence Whitfield & the Savages. The Sonics came on stage to wild applause and tore through a solid set of rowdy garage rock covers and originals. All in all, a worthwhile triple bill for $25 on a Friday night.
