Yeah, I know sequel isn't the right word for what i'm going to talk about, but whatever. You ever want to play a series of games, but when you look at the ridiculous amount of games the franchise has made for that one series, that you just sort of look away because it's overwhelming? That's just me? Ok, well whatever. Anyway, i'm going to talk about some of the game series' that i've wanted to dive into, but the amount of games the series has is just...a lot. And before you say "just play one at a time", well obviously i'll do that. I just want to talk about them for argument sake.

First off we have one series that is certainly on my list of games I want to play, but could never decide when to dive into them...

Assassin's Creed

In total, this series right now has...8 main games and a few others, and I can imagine that number is going to continue to grow as time goes on. Don't get me wrong, these games look absolutely amazing. I've actually seen someone play through the first game, and it looked like a lot of fun, but I've never actually sat down and played them myself. I'm a big fan of the stealth-esque open world type of deal it has going on, and i've always been a fan of Ubisoft. I have no idea when i'll start my journey on these games, but I know that over time, the older games will continue to get cheaper, so the longer I wait, the less money I have to pay to play them, which is pretty nice. Eventually, I want to play them all. The series has always gotten nothing but great reviews from what i've seen. That's not to say i'll enjoy them right away, but it's always nice to see people always talking highly of a series.

Super Mario

I think in total, i've played through...3 Mario games in my lifetime. Super Mario 64, the original, and Super Mario 3D world. It has always been a strange thing for me that i've never played any of the other ones. I've heard nothing but amazing things about the other games like Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and many others, but man....there's so many. Nintendo has always been good about putting out an amazing game though, and from what I hear, people seem to get a lot of enjoyment out of every Super Mario release that comes out. It's weird with me though, because although i'm a fan of Super Mario, I won't go the store at the release of a new game and hope to be one of the first to beat the new game. It's sort of a "if I get the game, i'll play it" sort of thing. That's probably why i've missed out on playing so many of them. Soon, I want to fix that. I know I can use an emulator, but that's not always down my alley.

Call of Duty

I have played a total of 1 Call of Duty game in my lifetime. Call of Duty: Black Ops. Story was fantastic, and the multiplayer was a lot of fun, but it wasn't soon after that I realized how many god damn games are in this series of games. I obviously need to get on the earlier releases and some of the news ones, because from what I see / hear, a lot of them look right down my alley. I would like to at least play through all the earlier games that were set more in the world wars. Those ones seem to have amazing stories, and if you saw my thoughts on Homefront, you'd know i'm a big fan of a good story in a first person shooter game. It just makes it that much more fun. I've heard a lot of negative things about the newer age of Call of Duty games how it's just the same thing over and over again, but if you take a look at the numbers, the games sell, and they sell a lot of them. So why would they stop doing what works? In my opinion, they're doing exactly what they should do. They're sticking to what they know, and it seems to work with every new release.
