It's no secret that I'm a huge Killing Joke fan, but I've always preferred their heavier stuff to their more post-punk/gothic rock material from the mid-to-late '80s. I'm beginning to realize that maybe that was an oversight on my behalf because I am really digging the sound on this album. I've always loved "Love Like Blood" but the mood of that song really shines through the entire album.

All that said though Brighter Than a Thousand Suns (1986) and Outside the Gate (1988) are still wank.
