just seems like creating a fake problem to whine about the fact that it happened to you in the past when you don't remember it, to me. i mean at the very least i would think you'd agree that there is nothing to be gained by dwelling on something you can't change. so even if there's a legit moral dispute as to whether the practice is ok, i'm better off not worrying about the fact that it happened to me rather than sitting around feeling sorry for myself. and since i don't remember it i find it very easy not to care.
if you say as a parent that you don't want to do it to your kid cause you empathize with the pain regardless of whether or not they remember it then i can totally understand that
