Bands like Earth Crisis came out of completely different scene than today's metalcore wave much like Iggy did before the Sex Pistols. You could make the argument that Bathory was the biggest impact on a band like Emperor, but I don't think you could make that same argument for BHTH in relation to bands like Earth Crisis.
