I just like the idea of playing a game with police procedures and the Police Quest games looked nice from some of the screenshots. Most of the Kings, Police and Space quest games underwent big graphical improvements in the 90s as well, which is no surprise as the series are quiet long, but I understand that they might not be the best place to start for a gamer.

The Delphine games were some of the first adventure games I ever played when they first came out and the two I remember were Cruise for a Corpse and Operation Stealth.

A lot of the games have been mentioned so far on the last few pages
Anyway like you I'm very interested in playing a whole load of point and click adventure games and have made up a huge list that I want to try and get through in the next year or so. Maybe I'll try and play 1 a week or 1 every two weeks as I know most aren't that long and as they're quite relaxing they're easy to play.
If you want to start somewhere really great I recommend either the Monkey island or Broken sword games but if you want something older then I guess it depends on how patient you are with the graphics and the playing restrictions, like dying for anything, silly mazes or just really hard puzzles.
The very first adventure game I ever played was a game called Eureka back in 1984/85 and hell I love to see a remake of that classic.
