^ I'm absolutely loving it for similar reasons. I decided when I began my nation that I would approach and decide where to take each issue the same way I would (and tend to) form casual opinions about the same issues in the real world.
I'm very quickly seeing the complexity of issues I didn't have a lot of experience with or education about before. It's a very clever and well written game. I'm learning a lot.
