Title: The visions will return
Artiste: The Deaf Aids (Plainview)
Genre: Electronic
Love
1. Nice swirly spacey synth sound (love that alliteration!) in “River through the universe” --- cool title too.
2. “The celestial waiting room”. The piano is beautiful, the ambience nice, but PV seems determined to throw in some off-putting dissonance sounds that ruins it, and threatens to have this moved to the “Hate” pile...

3. “If you could be born again” has a nice feel to it
4. The organ in “Milk of Paradise” is nice
Hate
1. That bloody klaxon thing that keeps going on through the first two tracks
2. “Lairy musings of a mental mind”. Sorry, Frown will probably love it but it's too confused and chaotic (or seems so) to me. Trying to squeeze too much into a small space?
3. The sudden ending on “The afterlife forecast”
4. To be honest, though I don't know this music and am very unfamiliar with what is acceptable in it, I find (and I hope you don't take offence) that Plainview is trying to pile too much into every track, usually, and for me it just ends up being very hard to really enjoy the music as you're constantly assaulted by sound contrasting with sound. Who said Zappa?

A good example, as above, is “Celestial waiting room”, which would have been fine with the piano and strings, but he had to jam in other dissonant effects and sounds. I guess that's how he works and how he makes his music but it is not for me.
End result: Not something I would necessarily avoid, but nothing I would be really interested in hearing again.
So, Love or Hate? I think it comes down more on the side of Hate, unfortunately.
