Title: Out to lunch!
Artiste: Eric Dolphy
Genre: Free jazz
Love
The first track puts me totally in mind of Waits, so that makes it more palatable to me than it would otherwise be
Like the sprinkly piano and vibes/marimba/whatever
Second track is slower, little easier on my ear
Third track is bright and breezy with a kind of feeling of sixties cop/PI shows about it; some very cool drumming here, nice guitar and upright bass too.
Next one is very upbeat and cheerful, has a nice swagger to it. Mind you, it's twelve minutes long, so if I survive this... hey that was pretty nice actually.
Hate
Damn horns going wild again
End result: All right, all right dammit! For a jazz album this is pretty righteous. I like it. Happy?
So, Love or Hate? No-one more surprised than myself, but yeah, it's a Love. Or at least, not a Hate.
