I've played The Evil Within. To me, it was a lot better than the reviews suggest. A lot of people have said the game is "broken" but I never encountered any serious issues whatsoever playing it.
The story is needlessly complicated and there is some cringe-worthy voice acting, but if you were drawn to this from Resident Evil 4 (which I think a lot of people were), that shouldn't be a big issue for you as RE4's strong suits weren't its story or acting.
Like RE4, it does a great job building atmosphere and throwing a diverse set of creative enemies, bosses and locations at you. I think there may actually be a bit too much change in the environments to be honest; there is just so much packed in there.
Overall, really solid game. The frame rate looks a bit choppy sometimes, but all-in-all it's a great-looking game. It has some genuinely frightening moments as well.
