Just get over the fact that it's a common feature on social media sites and look at the benefit. Someone writes a review of an album that they think another would like? Tag them. Trying to have an on topic conversation in a thread that's also home to an ongoing ****storm between a few members? Tag the person your directing your reply to and there's less of a chance they'll miss it. There's no reason to keep the forum stuck in the Stone Age just because Facebook happens to have the same feature. Besides, I think we sold out a long time ago with the friends and visitor message features.

I think it's a cool idea.
