I have never been a fan of Linkin Park (save for maybe one or two songs); to me, they have a very generic and even non-metal sound.

I don't understand why there's so much hate for Slipknot and System Of A Down, though. Yes, Slipknot is more commercial now but I still believe their music is great. System Of A Down is really one-of-a-kind with its style and its Armenian influences, and I love how their messages are so meaningful in many songs. Just because something is in a certain genre like nu-metal doesn't mean that it sucks. (Plus, I wouldn't even say SOAD is nu-metal; it's more like alt metal.)

I'm glad a lot of us agree that Disturbed is not actually nu-metal. Not to say that being nu-metal is bad; it's just that confusing the style of one band for another genre makes for a bit of devaluation of all that the band worked to produce.
