You know, the reason I post laughing smilies is because it lets people who said something amusing know that it was appreciated. To me this is something that encourages the kind of environment I'd like to be a part of: one that has a sense of humor. I started doing it on a stuffy, intellectual forum that I was a part of for many years before coming to MB because I felt people never acknowledged when others said something funny or clever and to me that seemed to stifle discussion. I don't begrudge you your verbose posts, why do you begrudge my simple appreciation of others' comments?
