If... (1968)



Binging on Malcolm McDowell's early roles, next on the list is O Lucky Man! Can't help but notice the similarities between his early characters, which certainly isn't a bad thing, it's why I love watching him act, but holy **** do his roles in If..., A Clockwork Orange, and Caligula feel closely related. He frequently has this ambitious madness to him, always has this dangerously confident look in his eyes, eager to instigate total uninhibited chaos, regardless of whether or not it destroys him. You see it in all three films and I won't be surprised if it's in O Lucky Man!
