Yeah, no. For work that doesn't require a college education (or even a high school diploma as far as I know) waiters make
good money. There's no possible way that the restaurant would be able to make up the difference. They're already paying them way below minimum wage (at least in the US), and now they'll have to match tip money? Not happening.
