Well I'm glad I went with Ege Bamyasi rather than their other stuff because imo this is their most accessible. The "formless noodling" is something you have to get used to with them and then you'll sort of realize that that's not really what it is at all but instead some of the most well formed "improv" I've ever heard. Them being seemingly accessible was actually one of the reasons I couldn't get into them. Back then I listened almost exclusively to weird stuff and was somewhat snobbish about it, so I dismissed Can as okay, but nothing special and kinda boring.
But their songs, even the ones that seem like groovy, poppy easy listening, have a depth and a weird madness to them I've never encountered anywhere else.
