Title: Get Lost
Artiste: The Magnetic Fields
Genre:
Familiarity: Zero

Note: I see the CD and Vinyl versions are both laid out differently, track listingwise. My Spotify copy has given me the Vinyl order, just so you know.

Track 1(Love) Nice sparse opener; is that uke? Probably not. Great vocals.
Track 2(Love) Now we have dark synthy new-wave stuff, with a deep and stark voice. Really like this one.
Track 3(Love) Keeping with the dark, morose synthy stuff, still very good. Voice reminds me of Phil Oakey, kind of.
Track 4(Love) More kind of acoustic and indie. Nice though.
Track 5(Love) Nice dream pop/psych feel to this.
Track 6(Love) A slow, morose synthy one with a dark vocal
Track 7 This is pleasant, a little filler-ish. Nice sitar? Actually, it's a bit dreary. First point on the album where I haven't been enthusiastic.
Track 8(Love) Much better! Uptempo, love the banjo. Voice is actually more Divine Comedyesque now.
Track 9(Love) Uptempo again, more in the new-wave mould a la The Cars. Like this.
Track 10(Love) This one sort of reminds me of China Crisis for some reason. Another boppy, synthy number. Vocal is a bit echoey?
Track 11(Love) More kinda poppy. Quite catchy.
Track 12(Love) Nice thoughtful little acoustic-y ballad
Track 13(Love) Pleasant laidback little dream poppy closer.

End result: Very enjoyable album. Interesting switch in the styles; think I prefer their dark new-wavey/synthy approach, but very good overall.

So, Love or Hate? This would be a Love.

Chances of a full review: 3/10
