I'm not avidly seeking out foreign hip hop, but I like to appreciate it for what it is every now and then. I think it's interesting to hear how rappers who speak other languages use their dialect to make music that's so focused on rhyme and rhythm. French artists especially seem to create something unique that you don't typically hear with English hip hop. Obviously it would be ideal to understand what their saying - but that's something I'm willing to forgo in order to hear something new.

Also, I don't sit and compulsively try to digest/interpret 100% of all the music I listen to. There's a lot of stuff that I just throw on to have something going in the background. If it's good enough to grab my attention and hold it - then great! It's the artists that I consistently return to that get my undivided attention, especially with hip hop. I'd rather listen to a foreign rapper do his thing and not understand a word than listen to a Drake single, any day.
