As for legitimate solutions I think if the live life like Mohammad mindset wasn't encouraged so that people would stop living out the more archaic elements of his life and take it with a grain of salt the way that (rational) Christians do with the Old Testament.

i'll be honest... i havent read much of the quran... every once in a while i get curious and hit up youtube... and all i hear is (paraphrasing):
" allah is the ****... all you people who dont believe in allah, **** you. allah is gonna kick your ass when this ****s over man. and even though you snicker at us and think we're fools for believing in allah, actually it's you who are the fools and allah will torture you for real son he cant wait."
except they say it all in a sing songy arab voice
