I had a whole post explaining my take on the division between
Doepsmoker and
Holy Mountain, but in short, I think people who want constant progression want nothing to do with it and actively despise it. Whenever I've seen someone detract Dopesmoker, it's pretty much always because "it's the same thing over and over."
The Batlord fits this description perfectly. Go listen to your viking metal and power metal.
