I live in a urban area west of Brisbane, and the birdlife - even here - is beautiful. We see many Cockatoos and Galahs around our house, and you will often see Galahs foraging by the roadside in areas. Kookaburras are also known to make their presence heard of a morning around here too
If you've not listened to Jimmy Eat World's 'Futures' album already, I strongly recommend it. Its solid.

Living in the midst of all those great birds sounds wonderful!
When I was a child, the Kookaburra nursery rhyme song must have been pretty popular in the U.S., so I had learned about Kookaburra birds by the time I was five. I always thought they were fictional and was very excited when, years later, I learned they are an actual bird from Australia! I had thought the whole song was just made up.
Our birds aren't as flashy, but, on the positive side, we have lots of squirrels! Not all as dramatic as that dramatic squirrel, but pretty dramatic when they get to chastising you and staring you down from some oak tree branch.
Thanks for the album recommendation!
