I think I've had this argument with William before but I feel like Rap as a genre is at an all time high (or peaked in the last ~10 years). I agree, the beats now are way better too.
The evolution of rap has amazed me, they changed the tempo and groove of it and they are still trying to find new ways to keep innovating on the genre.
