This is such a stupid line of reasoning. Even if he couldn't play, what he says about Page is still valid. It's objectively an awful solo, you just think it's great because he was wasted and your love of Zeppelin has clouded your judgement.
You don't need to play an instrument to criticize a player nor do you need to play for that criticism to be correct. It's the logic of a child.
