Whereas when I come across classic metal I find myself forcing myself to listen because I think "I'll probably like this if I keep going" before it loses my attention and 5 minutes in I run back to my iPod and listen for hours.

Perhaps I shouldn't question my habits and just follow my ears. shrugs*
No, if your 22 I think this is perfectly normal and is probably a good sign, considering that for many, metal has become the Dad's music.
