I don't want to spoil the surprise of finding them but they really come in handy.
if im not mistaken at the end of that very mission you're in you'll get one.
Dogmeat the dog companion is at a scrap yard btw.
im telling you this one because finding him is not part of the main story.. you kinda just run into him.
