What pattern? I don't defend goldern era MCs over mainstream artists. I never said I don't like rap with lyrics I find subpar.

The only thing I really criticize is the writing ability of mainstream artists, not their ability to put out good or catchy music.

I said they get by on nostalgia for me, or at least a good portion of them.

What makes someone a talented lyricist to you?
