Many Natives who traveled the Trail of Tears put down roots in OK and then CA... Most whites who moved out West during this time were not the types who held snobbish Brit protocol to a high standard; there was a lot of interbreeding in those parts... then there were other East coast Indians (many if them Cherokee) who refused to leave and just pretended to be Italian
