This is thought to be a reference to the spirit AIWASS that, on April 8, 9, and 10 in 1904 was the voice that Aleister Crowley claimed originated with a discarnate intelligence and dictated The Book of the Law (or Liber Legis) to him. Crowley claimed it was Hoor-paar-kraat (Egyptian: Har-par-khered) more commonly referred to by the Greek transliteration Harpocrates, meaning "Horus the Child", whom Crowley considered to be the central deity within the Thelemic cosmology (see: Aeon of Horus).
