If you want to get into 80s metal, then you have to get over cheesiness. Otherwise you might as well just keep on as you've been going on. 80s metal is cheesy for the most part and there's just no getting around it. But metal cheese is the highest quality Gouda, so I implore you to try.
Oh, check out Celtic Frost. They are certainly dated, but they were arty as all ****. Thrash, black, and avant garde metal all in one...
